Google Calendar

Google calendar is another feature that Google offers that you can access to keep up to date with anyone's activities you feel. You can add the events and then add people so they can view your calendar. You can change the colors of events and set repeating dates and the times you want the event to start and end. Google Calendars is a great tool to use so you can remember certain activities that you have going on. You can have different views of your calendar from daily to monthly. You can also color-code certain categories that are set aside. Here's my calendar for May.

Google Hanouts

Another one of Google's fine features is Google Hangouts. Google Hangouts is a feature that you can video chat with up to 9 people. You can put effects on their faces and and change whose in your big screen. Here are some pictures of people using Google Hangouts.

Google Voice

Google Voice is a feature on Google that connects phones to one number. You can set up an account through your email through Gmail. First you have to add phone numbers to a list to get them all under one number. Once you do that, you have a Google voice account that people can call you off of. So, if you're waiting for an important phone call and don't want to miss it, you do this and when people call that one number, it rings all the phones on that list.

Kerpoof

Kerpoof is a super fun website with super fun tools and activities that you can do on it. The first thing that I did on Kerpoof was made a card. I made it for my mom because Mother's Day is coming up.

The second thing I did was I drew a picture. It's a rocket on a starry night.

The third thing that I did was I made a picture. I took a premade picture and added to it.









The next thing I did was made a movie. It's about a princess that shoots a goblin. It's called the shot.

The final thing that I did on kerpoof was told a story. It's about aliens.

ToomDoo

ToonDoo is a website that you can use to make a comic strip. You can create traitrs and change their emotions and their posture. Create a book to share anything you'd like with the world. Here are some of my Traitrs that I created.

Primary Games

Duck Life is one of my favorite games on this website! You coach a little duck so he can race in a big race so you can rebuild your farm.

I also enjoyed playing Wild Wild Taxi which is a game that you have to move through the traffic in order to get to the flag on time.

Another game that I enjoyed playing was Crazy Penguin Catapult. You have to different things on each level. This level, I was aiming for bears.

ToonDoo

Visitors to my Blog

Only one country has visited my blog so far since I have added the Flag Counter gadget to my blog. This feature tells you what country your visitor is from, and the date they visited. When you get more visitors from other countries your circle will start to divide up. Here is my circle. The United States is the only country that has visited my blog, therefore, it is the only country that shows up on my circle.

Flag Counter

Flag Counter is a cool feature that if fun because you can see what countries view your blog. You can customize your counter so its what you want it to look like. This is my flag counter.

Flowers

Flowers to mail is a fun and a useful website to get on. If you don't have time to go out and get flowers, you can send someone them by email. On this website you can make many bouquets of flowers for friends and for family. You can change the shape of the vase and the color. When you make the bouquet, before you send it you can type a message to the person that you're sending it to. Here is one of the bouquets that I created.

Word Clouds

Today in Computer Essentials we explored word clouds. I found word clouds to be useful and fun! They can be useful because you can easily make a neat way to display information. You can also just mess around on them by putting in song lyrics or quotes. Wordle is more of a basic word cloud site that doesn't have a bunch of features. Tagxedo is a more advanced word cloud site that has way more features on it. You can change the shape, the text and the color of your word cloud. Here are a few of the word clouds that I created.

Photo Editing

Foto Flexer is an editing site that is unique because you can put your head on bodies of super models, cats, and more. It does have all of those other features like cropping and fixing the red eye. You can also re-size the picture and rotate it.

Pixlr is another editing site that I explored today. You can chose from three different settings:
Pixlr editor is more advanced than all the other ones. You have way more options regarding editing your pictures.
Pixlr express is more efficient than the next one. You do however have good features though.
Pixlr o-matic is more playful, not really serious editing. It's just to mess around when you're bored. Or, when you have to do a quick little edit, this one is probably the best one to go to.

Photo Show is fun because you can put a slideshow together of all the pictures you want. You can edit the pictures too!

Photo Editing

A couple of fun photo editing websites that I have explored are PiZap and Pic Monkey.

PiZap - PiZap is a cool site that you can edit pictures dramatically. You can put different eyes, hair, hats, or pretty much whatever you want to on it.
 

Pic Monkey- Pic Monkey is a more subtle editing site. There are some effects that are dramatic though.

Tools

Super Teacher Tools is a fun website with lots of unique tools on it. All of the tools on there can make a teacher's job way easier. For instance, the instant classroom can make it easier by not having to take the time o design a seating chart or anything like that. There are also things on there like the world population counter.

Class Tools is another cool site that has a lot of neat features. Some of the ones I thought were cool was the fake tweeter. You can type in a name and a tweet and it'll look a lot like a real tweet. It will come up with a picture that they think is that person.

Stykz

Stykz is a cool feature that you can use to create animations. You can change the color of your background and the color of your people. You can draw shapes and color them too! You have to download the application on your computer.

Clay Yourself

Clay Yourself is a fun and entertaining website that you can use to create yourself! After you create yourself, you can name it using the random name generator and then write a script. You can also look at some of the characters other people have created.

Proprofs

Proprofs is a website that you can access to create your own games. All you have to do is register and then create.

You can create word searches, crossword puzzles, sliding puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, hangman, and many more. You can also play games that other people have created.

Avatars

Today in Computer Essentials, we explored creating avatars. There are many different sites that you can access to to create these avatars.

Build Yourself Wild - Build Yourself Wild can be a serious website where you could make an avatar that resembles you or an avatar that could be crossed from an alien, to a polar bear, to even a snake or jellyfish tentacles.

Be Funky  - Be Funky is another fun website that you can edit pictures and upload them to Facebook or other social websites that are available to upload pictures on. You can put effects or change the sharpness or blur the picture. Be funky is a fun website that you can become a member of for free and save all of your pictures that you have edited.

Google Offers

Google offers is another great gadget that is offered by Google. You can select a category from the side and it will give you outstanding offers that businesses offer to you, the consumer. The places of the offers are based on where you are located or the closest city you closest to. The offers are good and available to anyone and everyone.

Panoramio

 Panoramio is a great website to search for potential vacation sites. You can go to the site and type in an address, a town, a state, or just a place that you've either heard about or always dreamed of going.  Once you have that typed in it will come up with pictures that random people have uploaded of that place or popular sites. You can click on the picture and get a better view of that certain site. When you type in a place, you get four options that you can look at:  popular, recent, places, and indoor. When you click one of those, it'll give you new pictures. 

iGoogle

iGoogle is a great resource offered from Google. It lets you put gadgets on your iGoogle page, so anything you want is right at your fingertips. You can add games to your page and play them right then and there! All of the gadgets that you add are always there until you delete them. They also offer interactive pets. You can feed them and play with them. You can have a news gadget too! It bring all of the most recent news to you. A calendar gadget is good too so every time you log on, it will remind you if you have anything that is going on later in the day. A Wikipedia search is good because you can just type it in right there on that page and your result will just show up. For your entertainment, there is a YouTube section with the most popular videos on YouTube. There is also a weather gadget that tells you the most recent weather conditions. I found this tool to be quite useful. 

Google Maps

Google Maps is a great feature to use when you are looking for a location or you are trying to get directions. All you have to do is type in what you are looking for in the search bar and it will pinpoint your location and give you directions. You can also print out the directions. You can search anywhere from your house and to another country!

Symbaloo

Symbaloo is a great website to use because you can put tiles on the sites that you visit most. There is a big Google tile in the middle so you can search something quickly and way easier. You can personalize your Symbaloo too!

Google Job Search

Today I visited a site that had a bunch of Google openings. Google is made out to be a really fun and a good working location. Most of the qualifications that you need are minimal. You can also, working for Google, work  in a different country, even on a different continent! That feature is cool because you can visit a place of the world you've never been to, or that you've just heard about, and be working at the same time! Here are some of the jobs that are offered.

Today I learned about Google Doodles! This is how and why each day it is a new style of the Google Logo is displayed.
